Wigwam Jazz Festival
We are working with the Wigwam to provide parameters for the fall Jazz Festival. Some of the items which we are coordinating with the Wigwam are: noise/decibel levels, traffic control, emergency access, parking, litter removal and security.
We plan to have a noise consultant at the festival to assist the City in developing an inclusive ordinance for the regulation of such future events. The consultant is the same professional who Maricopa County retained for the noise issues at the Arizona Motorsports Park. We look forward to the professional’s input and assistance to make such concerts a success for both the Wigwam and the City.
The Underpass Project is expected to be completed by the end of September, 2013. Although we encountered some design issues toward the end of the project, I believe that we will all be very proud of the final result. ADOT has advised the City that the Underpass Project has been “flagged” as a top-performing project with respect to partnering. Partners in this project include, but are not limited to: City of Litchfield Park, W.C. Scoutten, Inc., ADOT, Hunter Contracting Company and its subcontractors, Laurie Lindquist (Public Artist), City of Goodyear, APS, Cox Communications, Liberty Utilities and CenturyLink.
We plan to have a “ribbon cutting” ceremony in September or October to celebrate the completion of this long awaited project. In the meantime, we continue to post construction progress photographs on the website to keep viewers updated on the status of the project.
