Liberty Utilities Sewer and Water Pipe Rehabilitation

Posted on November 10, 2014 at 1:14 PM by City Staff

In October, staff reported that Liberty Utilities planned to commence work to “line” its sewer and water lines on Bird Lane, Palo Verde Avenue and Redondo Drive.  The work commenced as planned and is expected to be completed by mid to late December.

The sanitary sewer work includes relining the existing sanitary sewer pipe, manholes, and service connection laterals.  The water line system work includes relining the existing waterlines within the project area including installing new water services.  The relining of such infrastructure extends the life of the pipe, and avoids replacement costs and extensive road disruption and excavation.  Although the lining reduces the size of the pipe by a small amount, the smooth finish of the relining material actually increases hydraulic flow efficiencies.

Liberty Utilities is working closely with the Goodyear Fire Department in order to maintain proper levels of fire protection during the construction.
